The start of the 2019 IndyCar season begins today on the streets of St. Petersburg. As always the season will begin today at 1:30 pm on NBC Sports Network with the running of the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

The defending champion is St.Pete’s own Sebastien Bourdais.  He hopes to craft a name for himself in the record books as win the race three years in a row. No driver has ever done that; Helio Castroneves won the event three times but not consecutively (2006-07 and ’12).
