Rock Riley and Erik Erlendsson Preview the NHL Playoffs

Lightning get a good draw

The Atlantic Division came down to the very last game of the regular season, but the Lightning prevailed in the end.  The Stanley Cup Playoffs are the biggest sports story in Tampa Bay right now, and Rock Riley turned on Monday to Erik Erlendsson, Lightning Insider, to get up to date information.

Erik talks about the draw against New Jersey, a tough team despite their low playoff seed.  The Devils have played the Lightning very well this year, so they can’t be overlooked.  Erlendsson does not believe that will be a problem for Tampa Bay this time around.

Beyond the Devils, the biggest point of concern for the Bolts at the moment is the status of Steven Stamkos.  Erik is at the Lightning’s practices, and he doesn’t expect the lower body injury that sidelined the Lightning captain for the final three games of the season to keep him out in the playoffs.

The last six weeks have been concerning for Tampa Bay’s fanbase, and as a prominent Lightning analyst Erik has heard all the issues.  He offers some words of reassurance for the restless fans with the postseason just days away.

Listen to the Rock Riley Show, weekdays from 3-6 on Sports Talk 1040 Tampa Bay.
