Reports Say DeSean Jackson Is Expected To Be Making His Way To The Bay Area
It seems the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going to give quarterback Jameis Winston exactly what he has asked for, DeSean Jackson.
“I’ve met him before, and we want DeSean. You better believe we want DeSean here,” Winston told Greg Auman with the Tampa Bay Times. “I think he would be a great asset to our team. Me growing up an Eagles fan, seeing what he did for the Eagles and back in his Cal days and even with the Redskins, I would love to have DeSean.”
Early Thursday morning Adam Schefter with ESPN broke the news that the former Washington WR is expected to sign with the Buccaneers assuming no breakdown in final negotiations.

Jackson, who has spent the last three season in Washington playing for the Redskins, hauled in over 1,000 yards in two of his three seasons there. He isn’t the same explosive playmaker he was when he first entered the league, but he is still a player defenders have to mark each offensive play. Jackson could also be used by the Buccaneers on special teams.

With this signing the Buccaneers will be able to address their running back situation and also focus on adding to their cornerback depth with the 2017 Draft. However, don’t be surprised if the Bucs still draft a WR or TE.
Regardless, the Buccaneers will have scored big with the addition of Jackson, who can line up wide or in the slot, catch screens or run sweeps. GM Jason Licht and head coach Dirk Koetter sure are making things exciting in the Bay Area.
