GAINESVILLE, FL. — Florida (20-11, 11-7) ends their regular season with a victory against Kentucky, 80-67.

It was a Senior Day at the O’Dome. Gator fans celebrated Chris Chiozza, Egor Koulechov, and John Egbunu one last time at home.

Chris Chiozza left his mark on Gator history on Senior Day, becoming the all-time leader in assists with 552.

“It hit me when I walked out before the game. I was looking up at the screen and couldn’t believe how fast four years had gone by. Once I got on the court it was like another game, just go out there and play hard” said Chiozza.

That was mindset of the entire team.

“It was awesome and more than I expected. The tribute and the fans were amazing. We know we dropped a few games this year at home so we wanted to reward the fans who have been awesome all year, coming to all the games cheering for us and we wanted to finish strong” said Koulechov.

Florida did just that, finished strong. They lead the majority of the game, even leading by 23 at one point.

“We’re playing our best basketball of the year. The best way to continue doing so is to not rest on our laurels and not feel like we’ve got it all figured out” said Head Coach Mike White.

Next for Florida, the SEC Tournament in Nashville. Their first game wil be March 7th.

“We’ve got to remain on edge, continue to understand who we are and what our deficiencies are, continue to stay as connected as we’ve been lately” said Coach White.
