TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton says forward Terrance Shannon will have shoulder surgery and will miss the rest of the season.
Shannon, who hurt his left shoulder during a loss to Connecticut on Nov. 26, was third on the Seminoles in scoring (8.6 points). He was also averaging 4.4 rebounds per game.
A junior, Shannon played in just seven games. The 6-foot-8, 240-pound Shannon, a native of Forsyth, Ga., will apply for a redshirt this season and would have two years of eligibility beginning in 2012-13.
Florida State still has a deep frontcourt that includes three players who are 6-10 or taller: Jon Kreft, Xavier Gibson and Bernard James.
