CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — Miami coach Al Golden says safety Ray-Ray Armstrong has been reinstated to the team.
Armstrong was held out of Saturday’s game at Florida State after questions were raised about a dinner he had with someone who owns a public relations firm representing a small number of professional athletes.
The owner of the PR firm is Arielle Washington. She’s a longtime acquaintance of Armstrong. Both Washington and Armstrong posted comments on Twitter about the meal, eventually leading to an investigation by Miami’s compliance department.
Armstrong was previously suspended for Miami’s first four games over involvement with former Miami booster and convicted Ponzi scheme architect Nevin Shapiro.
Armstrong has 25 tackles in five games this year. Miami visits South Florida this weekend.
