Rich Cirminiello joins Tampa Bay Sports This Morning to discuss
Tampa Bay Sports This Morning was joined by a phenomenal guest on Friday when Rich Cirminiello of the Maxwell Football Club came on to discuss college football as championship weekend arrived.
Rich is the Director of College Awards for the Maxwell Football Club, overseeing some of the most prestigious awards in college sports. He is one of the country’s foremost NFL Draft experts, and a bit of a football historian. That second part is why it was worth asking Rich where Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide rank historically in terms of great runs. Cirminiello talked about how much more competitive college football is than it was during the days of some of the sport’s most legendary coaches, saying “I would put it up against anything we’ve ever seen in college football.” Certainly some high praise as the Crimson Tide prepared for the SEC Championship and the College Football Playoff, where they are sure to come in as the prohibitive favorites.
Cirminiello also takes listeners behind the curtain in terms of how the Maxwell Football Club suggests its voters go about awards season. While strong contenders have emerged in the awards races, as long as there are still games to be played the director advises patience.
McKenzie Milton is also a topic of discussion. Following his brutal knee injury against USF, the great UCF quarterback’s football future has been thrown into serious doubt, but Rich puts Milton’s career and UCF’s run into some perspective as they get ready for the American Athletic Conference Championship Game.
