The Rose Bowl and the Sugar Bowl will host the normal New Year’s Day games but neither Bowl will crown a champion, as has happened in the past.
Instead, the bowl games will be semi-final match ups which will lead to a January 12 championship game in Arlington, Texas.
Everyone figures to make some money off of the game in Texas– the college teams participating, Arlington, and hotels in the area, although the chain hotels will raise rates and send the money back to a corporate headquarters somewhere other than Arlington.
Some college age waiters and parking lot attendants will make bank, too. But will the college players see that money?
