Oklahoma remained #1 and Alabama stayed #2 despite LSU earning three of the seven first place votes. Florida continues to climb the polls and Clemson jumped from 20 all the way to 13 by defeating Florida State. Texas A&M’s loss to Oklahoma State cost them seven spots in the rankings while the Cowboys’ victory alllowed them to jump Stanford into the sixth spot. Arizona State’s victory over Southern Cal allowed them to clumb back into the polls while Illinois also joined the ranks after a 4-0 start, which includes a win over the aforementioned Sun Devils. Florida State, once the fourth ranked team in our poll fell all the way into a tie for 20 with Georgia Tech while another state team, South Florida, rose two spots to #16.  Southern Cal fell out of the poll as did North Carolina, who lost to #20 Georgia Tech in a 35-28 shootout Saturday.

For the second straight week, our home town squad, Central Florida, received no votes in the poll after losing at BYU. Miami, who received just a single vote last week, received no votes after a last-second home loss to Kansas State.

Tuck and O’Neil’s Mike Tuck also joined the voters this week, giving us a seventh member.
