USF Favored To Win AAC Title

Can USF pull it off this year? Can they bring home a conference championship? Well, the league’s media sure thinks so. For the second year in a row, the Bulls have been picked to win the American Athletic Conference’s Eastern Division.

According to the poll released this morning, for the first time, the Bulls are the favorite to win the league title. They received 26 of the possible 30 votes for this preseason prediction.

USF will be returning seven offensive and nine defensive starters from their record 11-2 season last year. Some of those returning players have also been named to national award watch lists.

The Bulls enter this season represented on eight national award watch lists. Senior quarterback Quinton Flowers (Maxwell), senior punter Jonathan Hernandez (Ray Guy), senior cornerback Deatrick Nichols (Bednarik, Nagurski & Thorpe), senior center Cameron Ruff (Rimington), senior linebacker Auggie Sanchez (Nagurski), senior defensive lineman Deadrin Senat (Nagurski & Outland) and sophomore tight end Mitchell Wilcox (Mackey).
