Dana White Offers Mayweather, McGregor $25 Million Each to Fight

Mayweather’s Response:  “He’s a f*cking comedian.”

UFC President Dana White went on FS1’s “The Herd” on Friday and offered both Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather $25 million to fight, as well as a piece of the pay-per-view revenue.

This comes a week after Mayweather offered McGregor $15 million to fight him while Mayweather himself would make $100 million for the fight.

“I’ll tell you what, Floyd,” said White.  “Here’s a real offer, and I’m the guy that can actually make the offer, and I’m actually making a real offer.  We’ll pay you $25 million, we’ll pay Conor $25 million, and then we’ll talk about pay-per-view at a certain number.  There’s a real offer.”

Mayweather, who is currently retired, has stated that he would only come out of retirement to box McGregor.

White also went onto talk about how McGregor has been the bigger draw as of late.  Mayweather on the other hand, pulled in low pay-per-view numbers for his last fight in 2015 verses Andre Berto.

“To think that you’re the ‘A’ side?  How are you the ‘A’ side?  The last major fight that you were in, you left such a bad taste in everybody’s mouth, nobody wants to see you again,” White said.  “His last fight did 350,000 pay-per-view buys.  Conor’s last (two fights), Conor did 1.3 and 1.5 million buys, so I don’t understand you think you’re the ‘A’ side.  There’s a reason you want this Conor fight so bad, because you know that’s your money fight.”

It didn’t take long for Mayweather to respond to White’s offer.  Just hours after the White interview aired, TMZ caught up with Mayweather.  When they told him the amount of money White is offering him, he laughed and said “He a f*cking comedian.”  The video of the interview is below via the TMZSports YouTube page.

Mayweather was showing off his Hublot LaFerrari watch, which start off around $250,000 and can go as high as $350,000.

The rumors of the fight happening have always seemed like a long shot since they started last year, but this is the first time White has entertained the idea of the fight.  White has always side-stepped any questions about the fight.  It doesn’t seem that White is too concerned if Mayweather accepts his terms or not.

“Whether Conor fights Floyd or he doesn’t, there’s a line of guys, that are ready to fight Conor that Conor will fight, that are going to do over 1 million pay-per-view buys.”
