Rays Wrap Up Homestand, Three Things To Watch

The Tampa Bay Rays look to even their series against the Los Angeles Angles on Sunday afternoon as they wrap up their seven game homestand.

Ryne Stanek (0-1, 2.54 ERA) will open for Tampa Bay and it’s expected that Jalen Beeks (5-0, 2.55 ERA) is expected to work the bulk of the innings.

Tampa Bay has lost four of its last five games, matching their worst five game stretch of the season. The Rays are 2-4 on their current homestand and look to get a win in the finale as they prepare to head to New York to play the Yankees for three. The upcoming road trip will cover 10 games in 11 days and traverse three time zones. After three in New York, the Rays head to Oakland for four against the Athletics, and finish with three in Minnesota tot take on the Twins.

Beeks, faced the Angels last August 2nd and picked up his first win of his career, yielding two hits and two runs in five innings following opener Hunter Wood.

Since being acquired by Tampa Bay, Beeks is 10-0 with a 3,.42 ERA in 28 appearances. It is the longest streak of winning decisions in club history passing Blake Snell (9) from August 10 through September 23, 2018.

The Lineups:

I am a fan of all sports but am most passionate about baseball. From the fanatical to analytical, nothing about the game escapes me. Being born and raised in Northeast Ohio I'm very familiar with the heartache and pain that sports can bring and hope that I bring some understanding of the other side to my coverage. I will focus mostly on baseball but also cover the Tampa Bay Lightning, one of the most electric franchises in all of sports. Always willing to converse about any sport and have only one rule and that is be respectful at all times.
