MIAMI (AP) — This has been the winningest season in the relatively brief history of FIU football. The Panthers are hoping it’s not over.
The Panthers have eight wins, tied for 26th-most in the nation and tied with Florida State for the most of any team in the talent-rich state of Florida. They went on the road and beat a Louisville team that will have at least a share of the Big East regular-season championship and could very easily find itself playing in the Orange Bowl. They finished the year with a three-game winning streak.
But is all that enough to merit a bowl invitation?
The Panthers aren’t sure, and the wait for things to shake out this week has been brutal. By Sunday night, they’ll get their answer.
