Hillsborough County Summer League Basketball

The SEBA Hillsborough County Summer Basketball League takes place at venues such as Tampa Preparatory School, Berkeley Preparatory School, Jesuit and Wharton consisting of teams from Hillsborough and Pasco counties. Schools such as Tampa Catholic, Tampa Prep, Berkeley Prep, Sickles, Wharton, Jesuit, Plant and many more participate in this league for a month for an opportunity for the coaches to evaluate their team and to get their kids back in the gym to continue to establish team chemistry in preparation for the 2017-2018 season.

The summer league came to an end last night at Tampa Prep where first year coach Joe Willis at Plant played against an always tough Jesuit team in the semifinals. Plant went on to beat Jesuit to advance to championship 46 to 41.

Tampa Catholic played against Wharton in the other semifinal game in crazy final two minutes of the game. Tampa Catholic won 47 to 46 and took the lead on an And-one three pointer to help seal the game.

Plant went on to play Tampa Catholic in the Championship game on the main court. Tampa Catholic initially forced a lot of turnovers with their pressure, but Plant was able to pull it together with a great team win 60-56. 1st year coach Joe Willis has done a great a job this summer getting his team to buy in and putting in a great system as Plant beat Tampa Prep, Jesuit and Tampa Catholic on the way to winning the championship
