Luke Scott Removed From Rehab Appearance

Luke Scott was scheduled to accelerate his  rehab assignment by playing tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday with the Charlotte Stone Crabs and be reevaluated by the Rays medical staff on Monday in hopes that he would be activated for Tuesday’s game against the Kansas City Royals.  His rehab appearance may have hit a bump in the road, not as a result of an aggravation to his calf, but but as the result of being hit on the right wrist with a pitch in the top of the 4th inning by Fort Myers Miracle pitcher Jason Wheeler.  Scott remained in the game and scored on a home run by Alejandro Segovia but was removed from the game prior to his next scheduled plate appearance.

h/t to Rays fan Doug Miller (@millerdna) for breaking the news on Twitter:

I am a fan of all sports but am most passionate about baseball. From the fanatical to analytical, nothing about the game escapes me. Being born and raised in Northeast Ohio I'm very familiar with the heartache and pain that sports can bring and hope that I bring some understanding of the other side to my coverage. I will focus mostly on baseball but also cover the Tampa Bay Lightning, one of the most electric franchises in all of sports. Always willing to converse about any sport and have only one rule and that is be respectful at all times.
