Rays Prospect Hak-Ju Lee Injures Knee Likely Out For Season

Tampa Bay Rays shortstop prospect Hak-Ju Lee appears to have severely injured his left knee during the first game of a double header against the Baltimore Orioles Triple A affiliate Norfolk Tides.  With the bases loaded in the top of the 4th inning a groundball was sent to second baseman Tim Beckham who softly flipped the ball to Lee who was unable to avoid a collision with the Tides Travis Ishikawa.

The 22-year old Lee was off to a fantastic start on the season hitting .422 (19 for 45) on the young season. Baseball America ranks Lee as their #56 on their 2013 Top 100 prospects list and he is regarded as the Rays #3 ranked prospect.

Update: Adam Sobesy reports that Travis Ishikawa has a broken nose:

I am a fan of all sports but am most passionate about baseball. From the fanatical to analytical, nothing about the game escapes me. Being born and raised in Northeast Ohio I'm very familiar with the heartache and pain that sports can bring and hope that I bring some understanding of the other side to my coverage. I will focus mostly on baseball but also cover the Tampa Bay Lightning, one of the most electric franchises in all of sports. Always willing to converse about any sport and have only one rule and that is be respectful at all times.
