Is Brooklyn about ready to lose the New York Islanders in 2020?
That is a question that should be posed. The Islanders’ stakeholders, whether it is marketing partners, potential big item ticket holders and every day fans had to be taken aback when a newspaper article came out earlier this week suggesting that the Islanders move to Brooklyn may be temporary because the company interested in buying the two year old Brooklyn arena seemingly is uninterested in having the Islanders in the building.
Islanders ownership groups were unable to either build a new arena or renovate the Nassau Coliseum since 1997 so Brooklyn became a viable option. What’s next? Big business not fans could decide the future home for the team.
