NBA Finals: Golden State Win First NBA Title in 40 Years
The Golden State Warriors finished off the undermanned Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 6 of the NBA Finals by the score of 105-97. I spoke with twitter personality and die hard Cleveland sports enthusiast @RaysFanGio as we recapped a thrilling series of basketball. We reviewed how Golden State was able to fend off the hard charging LeBron James who has now been a part of four losing teams in NBA Finals action.
Although Gio’s favorite team was on the losing end, he explained why this loss isn’t as devastating as other losses in Cleveland sports history. For all of the Cavaliers’ struggles against the Warriors, Gio truly appreciated the effort and determination of role players like Matthew Dellavedova, Tristan Thompson, and Iman Shumpert.
Gio and I take a look into the future to see whether or not the Warriors and Cavs could possibly meet up again in next year’s final round. Will Cleveland be able to keep their core unit together? Can Golden State remain on top in the super competitive western conference? And, where does this year’s Warriors’ squad rank among the best NBA teams of all time?
