NBA Finals Breakdown: Cleveland Cavaliers vs Golden State Warriors
I spoke with Cleveland Cavaliers’ superfan @RaysFanGio about the exciting NBA Finals match-up between his Cavs and the Golden State Warriors. With both teams battling through significant injury issues this late in the year, we break down which team is in worse shape. While Cleveland’s Kyrie Irving only played 22 minutes in the Cavs’ last game due to knee tendinitis, Splash Brothers Steph Curry and Klay Thompson both suffered traumatic head injuries in their last series against Houston.
As for arguably the best basketball player on the planet, LeBron James has had well chronicled cramping issues during the NBA Finals before. As a member of the Miami Heat, James suffered cramps in last year’s Finals series against San Antonio, as well as in the 2012 Finals series against Oklahoma City. Gio weighs in on whether or not five consecutive NBA Finals appearances has taken its toll on Cleveland’s beloved star forward.
In addition to the star power of James and the Splash Brothers, the performance of the role players will have a major impact on the outcome of this series. Gio and I discuss how this extended break may affect Cleveland’s mercurial shooting guard J.R. Smith. Has Smith maintained his focus or has living the fast life caught up to him during the week off between games? You won’t want to miss this NBA Finals podcast of EPIC proportions!
