Marijuana usage is legal in Washington State but players on the Seattle Seahawks could be suspended for using pot while Seattle Mariners players could be fine.

Seems that Phelps was not hurt in any way smoking marijuana in a college dorm and that his friend decided to take a picture of him, there would be a big laugh and life would go on.

The USA Swimming suspended Phelps from competition for three months because of his “tokin.” Phelps also lost the group’s financial support for three months, although Phelps certainly could afford to pay for his own training. In the future, there may not be a need to apologize because marijuana usage is being decriminalized. Sports organizations will have to figure out what to do with users who legally buy the product and whether sports organizations can suspend athletes for using a legal product.
