The International Olympic Committee and FIFA are partners. FIFA, the governing body of International Football or soccer, has a deal that allows football or soccer to participate in the Summer Olympics.
But, the two organizations have a calendar problem in 2022. The Winter Olympics will be held in either China or Kazakhstan in February of that year and FIFA doesn’t know what to do because Qatar is inhumanely hot in June and July, which will not make for world class football.
FIFA is thinking of holding the event in the North American winter or pushing the event back to North American Fall later in the year. A clash would not be good for television, sponsors and parners.
