Warriors set to make their claim as NBA’s best ever

0
One victory left for the Golden State Warriors to claim another title. Not the one as NBA champions. The one as the best team ever. Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and the rest of the Warriors will be able to make that boast if they win Friday to complete the most impressive postseason run in major sports history. They moved to the brink of that with a 118-113 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. The Warriors are 15-0 and can finish off the NBA’s first perfect postseason with a victory here in Game 4.

Can the Warriors sweep Cleveland in the NBA Finals?

The possibilities seem endless for the Golden State Warriors when they are rolling. A 150-point game isn't even out of reach. "I mean, we could have gotten at least 140 the other night if we only had about 10 to 15 turnovers," All-Star guard Klay Thompson said. Dominating like no team ever has in the postseason, the Warriors look capable of anything - except another NBA Finals collapse.

Tyronn Lue has a new No. 1 priority for LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 2 of the NBA Finals: Stop the ball. First and foremost, then make sure Golden State's sharpshooters have a hand in their face. Translation: Do anything and everything possible to stop Kevin Durant from driving through the paint and dunking at will with nobody even around him.

Curry wants the Warriors to just enjoy playing the Cavs

Stephen Curry spoke up, just in case his Golden State Warriors needed another reminder from their MVP and leader. His message as the NBA Finals began: be yourselves. Forget the juicy story lines, or avenging something that happened last June, that championship that got away. Set aside the hyped-up Cavs-Dubs rivalry, constant talk of the trilogy, Part III.

LeBron James had a simple explanation for what stood out in Game 1 of the NBA Finals: KD. With a motivated Kevin Durant playing some of the best basketball of his career and taking the pressure off Stephen Curry, Golden State dominated Cleveland 113-91 in Game 1 on Thursday night and showed that Cavaliers-Warriors III might not look anything like the previous showdowns.
