Folarin Balogun continues to receive applause for his improved scoring form for French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco.
The former Arsenal youngster has found his scoring boots under Sebastien Pocognoli with six goals in his last 10 appearances – a contrast to his record of just one goal in six appearances at the start of the season.
Balogun’s international teammmate, Timothy Weah applauded him for being one of the strongest players he’s ever faced and hoping for him to maintain the form ahead of next year’s FIFA World Cup.
Weah told RG: “Playing with Flo [Balogun] is amazing. For me, he’s one of our strongest players for the States right now. He’s been performing super well”
“Every chance that we get to share a pitch, whether it’s with him or against him, it’s a blessing for me. To see him shining at his club is wonderful.
“Hopefully, we can do some big things together this season, at the end of the season, at the World Cup.”
Weah and Balogun were integral part of Mauricio Pochettino’s USMNT squad with both players in contention to get a spot at the 2026 World Cup.
While Weah is not new to the World Cup stage, Balogun have his sights set on making a debut appearance in the global fiesta next summer.
