Real Madrid soccer star Jude Bellingham has gained over 1.5 million new Instagram followers in just five days, a new study has found.
Researchers analyzed Bellingham’s Instagram account following a key week which saw the player score a match-winning double against bitter rivals Barcelona in El Clasico, and claim the Kopa Trophy, which celebrates the world’s best-performing player under the age of 21.
Bellingham scored a late second goal to claim all three points for Real Madrid on Saturday against Barcelona, before traveling to Paris for the 2023 Ballon d’Or Awards where he became the first Englishman to win the Kopa Trophy. Since Saturday, Bellingham’s Instagram following has shot up by 1,558,574.
Research was also conducted into Bellingham’s excellent goal-scoring form, as analysts monitored his Instagram following the day after each of his last five Real Madrid performances to see how his stellar form is impacting his social media.
Bellingham’s hot goal-scoring run, which has seen him score in four of his last five games, is making an enormous difference to his growing fanbase. On average, over the last five games, every time Bellingham scores for Real Madrid, his follower count on Instagram rises by 194,459.
