Let ’em Run Weekend Recap – July 5, 2025
Let ’em Run was setting off some fireworks of our own during the July 4th weekend with action at Gulfstream Park and Saratoga.
We also debuted our new segment, “Speed Play of the Day” — each week we’ll highlight a horse we think can wire the field. And let’s just say… we kicked things off in style.
Gulfstream Park Results
Race 7
Our contenders ran 1st and 3rd. Top pick didn’t fire, but Boundfortrouble (#4), one of our top contenders, scored the win and paid $7.20.
Race 8
No win here, but we were right there. Our top pick and two contenders finished 2nd, 3rd, and 4th — plenty of options to cash if you liked the winner.
Race 9
We nailed the board across the board. Contender #6 Mr. Peeks took the win and paid $4.40. Top pick #4 Coldstream ran 2nd, and #1 Nothingsubtle completed the trifecta.
Race 10 – Speed Play of the Day
Our debut “Speed Play of the Day” was a smash. Top pick #5 Prevent wired the field and paid a sweet $14.40. Contender #8 Just a Photo managed 4th.
Race 11
A bit of a letdown. Best finish among our picks was 3rd by #9 Prince David, but still returned $5.60 to Show.
Saratoga Selections
We jumped in for the July 4th Festival at Belmont at Saratoga, with full Saratoga opening day coming Thursday, July 10. For now, we’re sprinkling in select races, mostly turf.
Race 8 – Speed Play of the Day #2
#2 Boat’s a Rockin fizzled like a dud firework — never fired.
Race 10
We bounced back big. Top pick #3 Think Big ran massive to win the Kelso Stakes and paid $15.00. A real highlight of the day.
Race 11 – Belmont Oaks Invitational
The favorite #7 Nitrogen didn’t get it done. Our pick #6 May Day Ready had a rough break, ran on well, but had to settle for 4th.
Coming Up Next – July 11 and 12, 2025 at Saratoga and Gulfstream Park
We’re back for more this Friday at 3 PM with another round of Happy Hour Handicapping on Capital Sports Network, featuring our One Horse Wonders segment.
Then join us Saturday at 12:30 for full coverage, with updated picks after scratches and track conditions.
