Rock’s ‘Studs & Duds’ Of Buccaneers Training Camp

Rock Riley and Tyler Bradley discuss who the studs and duds of Buccaneers Training Camp have been.

Rock believes Chris Godwin, the wide receiver out of Penn State, has been the stud of training camp. At 6’1″, the rookie doesn’t seem to have a problem with keeping up with the speed of the NFL.

“I think I’m doing a pretty good job adjusting, I have a long way to go,” said Godwin. “I have so much more to learn and correct some mistakes. But I think that’s the great thing about training camp, you really come out here and learn from your mistakes.”

The receiver is going through a lot of classroom time, which he thinks is a major difference between college and pro. Godwin said there is a lot more meeting time and watching film with the Buccaneers than what he experienced in college.

And while Godwin has been shining throughout training camp, one player Rock believes hasn’t lived up to expectations yet is O.J. Howard.

The tight end out of Alabama was selected by the Bucs at 19 and hasn’t really caught many eyes…Yet. Rock believes one reason for this is because of the talented tight end group Howard is playing alongside with Cameron Brate and Luke Stocker.

Rock believes Howard has the skills but is still getting used to everything.

While most eyes have been on Howard and Godwin, all eyes have been on the kicking battle. Rock discusses this as well and believes it’s a tie between kickers at training camp now.
